rustywings Posted November 15, 2010 Author Share #26 Posted November 15, 2010 Cliff and Paul, Thank you for your quick response and research efforts. Prior to posting this medallion, I had no real knowledge of the "Project 7A" group outside of seeing your two "7A" pins illustrated on Bob Schwartz's fine web site, www.ww2wings.com. I spent the evening reading about the impressive feats of "Project 7A" and American Airlines contribution to the early ATC efforts in India and China. It was an eye-opener to learn that each American Airlines crew member that completed 25 one-way trips over the "Hump" was entitled to the Air Medal. And those crew members completing 25 round-trips were awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. It kind of puts into prospective how damn dangerous flying over the Hump really was! John Cooper Posted November 16, 2010 Share #27 Posted November 16, 2010 Oh my those are some beautiful wings! As for project 7A I "was" in the dark as well but not any longer! Russ it maybe worth buying the book on the topic. Project 7 Alpha John
