kertwo Posted November 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2010 Hi, I was hoping somebody might be able to give me some information on this Army rank (pictured is front and back). Only have one and picked it up with a group of WWII patches. many thanks, Ken
Manchu Warrior Posted November 7, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2010 I can't remember what rank it was but there was a thread in the not so distant past that had a photo of a soldier wearing this rank.

(Privates and Privates First Class could also be Specialists during that time period.) I've never seen gold and blue ones.... these chevrons aren't 2" wide, are they? Thank you kindly for the good information! Color is actually black/od; appearance change must be a result of the lighting. Chevrons are actually 3 1/8 wide by 5 inches long. D.A.T. Posted November 8, 2010 Share #6 Posted November 8, 2010 Hope you don't mind me butting in, but I also have a small collection of unauthorized specialist chevrons myself, posted this sometime back. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...t=0&start=
Captainofthe7th Posted November 8, 2010 Share #7 Posted November 8, 2010 Here's an original photo of these stripes (or similar...I didn't count the rockers) in use. I may have pulled this image right off the forum, so here's credit to the original poster. Rob

GIl Sanow Posted November 9, 2010 Share #9 Posted November 9, 2010 Well, we have seen the loose chevrons, and pix of an example being worn. Here's a 'live' uniform to show one on a sleeve. Not sure if I have posted this before -- if so, I apologise. G
