PaulR Posted December 28, 2010 Author #78 Posted December 28, 2010 Really great stuff Rattle! I always love seeing your displays!
greensquid68-69 Posted December 29, 2010 #79 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi all - Thought I'd show my Corpsman jumper on this thread. I have a hard time within the show-off arena - but figure this is living history, right? The Boonie hat & my belt were among the very few things (besides a lot of bad memories etc) I brought home from Vietnam. As you can see the belt is blown in half & still blood stained from when I was wounded in a firefight by a Chi-com grenade in July '68. After I was medevaced etc I realized my belt was still hanging down by my side & although dazed and in shock, somehow I put it in my pocket and it didn't get lost in the chaos. Although it brings back memories, it is a prized possession. I was never issued greens as I went over in the summer & my khakis have been lost in time. I'm including my ribbon display (they were in a box for 20 yrs before I mounted them) because they are not on my jumper. You might note there is an Army PUC that was awarded my Regt for our combined action in the Ashua Valley with the 101st in '69. The 9th was one of the very few USMC units in VN to get an Army PUC. Feels strange to put this stuff on display here - but thought some of you Corpsman/Medic collectors would be interested. Doc M

P-E Posted April 11, 2011 #96 Posted April 11, 2011 Sorry, it's not a jacket or trousers, but a part only of uniform - US Navy corspmen garrison hat (in marpat camo) : So as you can see, the difference is that there's no EGA embroidered for Corpsman ! These are the same garrison hat than USMC, but without EGA.
P-E Posted April 11, 2011 #97 Posted April 11, 2011 And here's pictures of them in use : I also have a scrub suit in marpat desert, but I think it's a commercial item...
