Thanks for posting the pics; that's the other variation I mentioned in my post above :thumbsup: Most of both variations I've seen are "transitional" (dark O.D. with khaki webbing), like yours.

Dang- I forgot about the pics I intended to put up here in answer to Frank's original question :pinch:

 

The shot below was taken in New Guinea; from the 1944 Harper & Bros. pictorial "Our Army At War" (sounds like an old comic book some of us Old Guys used to read... :rolleyes: )

Buffalo Grunt. Nice pack and packboard. FYI. This medical pack was really designed to be carried on and fits better mounted on the early Yukon style packboard.
