Brig Posted August 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2007 my guess is mute goes to the comm system, and retract and extend may be for a cable or something for rescues, since it mentions hoist all just specualtion. the only helos I've flown in have been in the rear, not the cockpit
dustin Posted August 17, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 17, 2007 I agree something for a helicopter, a klaxton is an alarm Emplane means to board an aircraft
MWalsh Posted August 17, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2007 I have seen some of these before, if memory serves me right, they are the control assembly for the hoist systems on the really large helicopters, like Ch-47's, CH-53's, and the CH-54 (I think that was what the Skyhook was, the really huge one that sits up high on the extended legs). I think the assembly runs the hoist / lift system that goes up through the bottom of those helos, like what you'd use to lift and carry a truck or trailer of whatever.
