sigsaye Posted June 18, 2023 #29 Posted June 18, 2023 Was there ever anything in uniform regs about berets? I know they existed and were worn, but was it something like covering working jackets with patches. Not in regulations, but done anyway. Same with dungarees. Dropped from regs in the early 70s, but guys kept wearing them anyway.
sigsaye Posted July 4, 2023 #30 Posted July 4, 2023 So. I’ve never worn a beret. How were they in the heat and humidity?

sigsaye Posted October 22, 2024 #34 Posted October 22, 2024 So, we’re any of these berets, “Isdued”? Were they private purchase?, were they “Organizational Clothing”, like the fatigues? I don’t recall ever seeing anything in uniform regs about them, ( but, I never looked either). Just asking.
Cpl. Punishment Posted February 10, 2025 #35 Posted February 10, 2025 The first photo is of this man wearing his beret with River Section 542. Later, he transferred to RivDiv 593 and was a plankowner. This is the same beret given to me by the vet.
