Musty Odor

Think maybe a nice smelling fabric softner dryer sheet laid in there might help. I noticed nobody else had offered

any suggestions.

My dad brought in a holster for me last night. It had been sitting in a damp environment for a and has a moldy smell to it. I doused the holster with Lysol last night and hit it again when it dried. It helped the smell immensely. I'm still not trusting it around my other items until I am sure there are no mold spores anywhere on it.

Try kitty litter.

Buy the cheap stuff (the non clumping kind).

Take a brown grocery bag or a plastic tub (something you can close) and fill it about 4 inches full of kitty litter.

Look for something to set the case on (I usually use a small block of wood) and place in the center of the bag/tub.

Place the case on the block (you don't want it touching the kitty litter).

Close up and let set for 24 to 48 hours.

If the smell is not gone...repeat the process.

I find that after 24 hours the smell is almost always eliminated or reduced enough to not bother me.

Just remember to check the item over to make sure that what is causing the smell is not still active.

I have an old medal case that has a very strong musty odor. Any ideas on how I can get rid of the stink?

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll give the kitty litter a try and see what happens.
