That is a cool detail, a good way to get your cover tight for sure.

The 4th ID helmet is really cool. I like seeing them and the 3rd as both of those units were heavily involved in D-Day and have a good history. Thanks for posting!

My fav helmet prolly cause it's just a German helmet with new material.

Im glad they ditched the K pots. Terrible things to have to wear on your melon everyday.

Very uncomfortable things. Back in 86 we had to turn in our M1's for these things.

The brim sticking out was always whacking the bridge of my nose. Everytime you hit the prone you had to push the dam thing back so you could fire

your weapon. They were heavy, you couldnt sit on them, dig with them, pound a stake with them or even drop them.

The webbing left deep imprints in your head. I got around the head divots from the webbing by wearing a soft cap backwards. Caught flak for that until I cut the brim off the sft cap and then nobody knew I had it on under the helmet.

Its just a terribly poorly designed helmet.

The person who developed it obviously never had to wear it in the field for

any length of time. Never had to run and jump and throw themselves on the ground while wearing it.

It is now where it belongs. In the failed helmets of history dustbin.

Yeeech!!!!

I received this PASGT from one of the Gibraltar Industries contracts from 1983. There is a Gentex 85 marking in the dome, so I believe this helmet was not completed until 1985. I received the helmet from Ramstein, Germany. It came with a Woodland Camo cover from 1986. Does anyone know what the "AR" marking on the inside of the helmet means? It is in the same style as the manufacturer's marking

Good looking USMC PASGT, don’t think I’ve ever seen zip ties with loops on the end. Is there a manufacturers sticker anywhere in the interior?

Blurry, I’ve seen various pics where they used the zip ties, just can’t locate an example right now. I think it’s a Unicor but it’s packed away.

Recent helmet I got out of a larger GWOT grouping, Haven’t ID’d the guy, but still a cool helmet, think this helmet was issued later in his career as it’s not used like all the other gear.

Nice group! Hope to come across something like this one day.
your right about the helmet, it looks almost new. Maybe he lost it towards the end of his service? Or perhaps a private purchase after he had to turn in his issued one.
Either way, cool to have a named group. Anything interesting in the gas mask bag?

Yup, M17 gas mask missing filters. Also named to him and in rough condition.

Here's my most recent addition. This is a medium PASGT produced by Stemaco and has a 1988 contract date, though it has a heat stamp indicating it was produced in 1987. The DCU cover has a 2000 contract date and the sun-wind-dust goggles were manufactured in January 1989 according to the box. The previous owner also painted the helmet a shiny brown color for some reason. The sweatband is a previously unworn item that I added.

I always enjoy how these kevlar helmets look as a group alongside the M1.

Nice looking shelf, now you need a PASGT with a UCP cover.

If I ever get a fourth PASGT that would logically be next. That or MARPAT which looks pretty cool too.

Here's one of mine! A nice, salty patched helmet belonging to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne.

Bonus; a size comparison to my XL. I have no clue what size this one is since all the stamps are gone.
