Received this yesterday, a 4" version of the 340th Bombardment Squadron, part of the 97th Bombardment Wing. First ever 4" version I have seen, much less owned.

Very nice! Where did you find it? Dealer, Ebay, Friend, Trade, Purchase? Curious....always like to see where people look for items.

Had a voucher, so I bought it from Doug Barnard via ebay. I used to buy a "ton" on ebay, but the prices have become very unrealistic, to the point that I think many sellers are oblivious to the economy. I realize they are running a business, and spare me the hate mail, but I know a particular seller who was peddling patches they bought for $10 or less to myself and friends for $200. Fair is one thing, but that is assinine. Now I just look for bargains and hope for trades/donations. Doug is pretty fair on most of his stuff and you Emil are a prince amongst sellers, as is Mark Barilovich and Cobrahistorian, to name a few. I think all in all there are some great and fair sellers out there!

I'll vouch for Doug Barnard anytime!! I ask him about the AF and Navy patches i get and he sends people my way when he has an Army related patch that he knows nothing of. Would buy from him anytime!

Yes, Doug is one who has sold me some great patches at great prices. Definitely A+++++!

Thanks, very nice of you to say what you did. I always try to remember that I am a collector first and the dealing came later because the collecting found the stuff to buy and sell.

I know all of the people you mention (well, except the CobraHistorian and I may know him or her too if I knew their street name) and I know they are good people. I have known both Doug and Mark for many years, many though the postal service and later, meeting at ASMIC Conventions and such. Golden and I think Honest. One of the things that attracted me to ASMIC in the first place was that in most cases, with few exceptions, the people attracted to ASMIC and it's code are the type where you, as a collector, can let your guard down and go about the business of getting whatever insignia you seek to trade for or buy without any plastic grandstanding or BS. Notice I said that was in most cases, I have known people who were not so decent too who joined for a bit but over time, I think they got out of Dodge because there is a little peer pressure.

Again, nice find, glad you were able to save it for history's sake.
