jagjetta Posted December 7, 2016 Share #835 Posted December 7, 2016 John A. Paruleski, 470 Motor Truck Co., 418 Motor Supply Train. The 470 Motor Truck Co. arrived in Brest on August 25, 1918, and were shipped to the front three days later where they remained until after the Armistice. According to another member of the 470 Motor Truck Co, Tallie Everson, "A Motor Supply Train consists of six motor truck companies with twenty-seven trucks to a company, and on each truck, a driver and an assistant who rides the rear end of the truck acting as scout for the truck behind also guarding the load of his own truck." -- Brodhead's Tribute to Her Men of the Service, 1914-1918, by Brodhead (Wis.) world war I nerd Posted December 24, 2016 Share #842 Posted December 24, 2016 Despite looking like a miniature (inverted) chevron above the service chevrons, it's actually just the top of the pointed cuff as found on the USMC P 1914 Winter Field Coat. For some reason, the upper half of the upper half of the pointed cuff disappears, but if you look closely you can see the shadow of the pointed cuff's lower half emerging from underneath the service chevrons. John, that is one of the more amazing images of a WW I Marine.
