One more unidentified BG wearing Utah National Guard & adjutant general collar insignia.

Al Barnes, if you're reading this, I believe you helped me identify this one. Unfortunately for me, I didn't write it down!

Here are a couple images of 27th Infantry soldiers, probably bound for Siberia (that is, I suspect the images where taken in the U.S.--probably San Francisco).

The first is "Private Reino Kervey, Co., 27th Infantry A.E.F. Siberia. via San Francisco, California"

The second was taken in the same studio and is inscribed, "I send one picture last week so if that letter gets lost this one will an's its purpose. Don't forget those pictures you promised to send. You ought to have some printed by this time.

Novelty photo taken in a French studio, ca. 1919, shows two doughboys, one wearing a French Roold-style safety helmet. The soldier in the rear of the "plane" appears to have a 38th Division shoulder patch.

An unusual, albeit creepy, studio view with a message from USN sailor, Robert Welsh. Taken in 1917 at the Peoria, Illinois, "Novelty Photo Studio" maintained on Adams St. by the Iritz Brothers.

John---I think this guy qualifies to be considered as what we used to call in the 2nd MARDIV a "Liberty risk."

Well that is a poignant, difficult photo, Brennan: Proof-positive of the power of original photographs!

Terry K:

Good shot of a shawl-collar mackinaw I believe World War I nerd has a strong thread going on this style of overcoat:

Here's one I am confident I had posted because I didn't even SEE the Distinguished Service Cross until I scanned the image!

No info on the back of the RPPC to reveal anything about this tight, little German studio setting. The soldier seated on the right of the image has a shoulder insignia, but I can't make it out. Looks to be diamond shaped so maybe 5th or 26th Division?

Couldn't fit a third image in the post above. Here is a closeup of the guy seated on the right in the DSC photo:

And a closeup showing the plaid lining on the leather jerkin of the fellow seated in the center of the group:

A fitting post for Veterans Day. Apparently this Indian Wars veteran was one of the chosen veterans to help preside over the first ceremony. Anyone have any clues to his name? Although he wrote it on the back, the fluid handwriting is enigmatic to these young eyes.

L.B. Milner, 1435 R Street, DC 1921.

I have always wondered about this one as it was sent to an address in Wiscasset one street over from my old office. Obviously someone who met Clara during the Unknown Soldier Ceremony on Veterans' Day, 1921.

Tank Corps guy posing in a Nice, France studio.

He's wearing the 1st pattern TC disc on his collar & OS cap. Also a pair of leather spats instead of the traditional wool puttees.

PFC Clarence Nordquist (left), Company B 54th Pioneer Infantry. It looks like his older brother is in 2nd Battalion 23rd Infantry, though I haven't confirmed that yet.
