hawkdriver Posted September 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2010 A number of items I have in my uniform collection have name tapes on them. Is there any way of tracing the name? Thanks in advance. Not reallly. Without some other information, such as a SSN or a laundry number, doubtful without a lot of speculation and guessing. BEAST Posted September 8, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2010 How old are the items? Do you have an idea where the vets were from? Feel free to post photos of the uniforms and the names and we might be able to find something out. However, as Hawkdriver stated, you may only get an educated guess or SWAG! gwb123 Posted September 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2010 It depends what kind of uniforms you are talking about, and what other insignia they might have on them. Rank, unit patches, qualification badges, etc. Vietnam jungle fatigues, HBT's, BDU's, DCU's? Aside from the uniforms, any contract tags on them that might have date codes on them. And, as mentioned any laundry markings with partial service numbers can also help. We've had forum members so some great research with these kinds of clues. Charlie No evidence of a Combat Patch SSI so he likely wasn't in Vietnam.

gwb123 Posted September 10, 2010 Share #10 Posted September 10, 2010 Well, it was worth a try anyway. If you bought them locally, you might look in the phone book to see if there is anyone around with that name.
