He served in G troop, 1st Texas Cavalry during the Spanish American War as a Bugler. He also served in Company A, 1st California Cavalry c. 1900-1902. He Also served in B Company 7th California Infantry 1910 to 1912. He last served in the Signal Corp US Army at Fort Kearney California 1917-1919.
