913th AREFS

Here is one I received yesterday, the 913th Air Refueling Squadron. I also found a nice site on Walker AFB, and although the 913th was not at Walker, it has great pics from the base during the 509th & 6th Bombardment Wing days. the site is at www.wafbmuseum.org

The 913th was activated on 15th March, 1958 with the KC-135 Stratotanker as part of the 4238th Strategic Wing at Barksdale AFB. In 1963 it was transfered to the 2nd Bombardment Wing and prior to its deactivation in 1981, it supported air refueling operations over Vietnam and Indochina from 1966-72. There is also a morale version, with the scroll reading "Jet" Refueling Squadron.
