Army Ambulance Toy

A bit smaller than my WC-54, this Ambulance looks to be hand made!

Its about 15 " long. The back opens, and the builder even bothered putting in a linoleum floor, just like the real deal!

The headlights are just for show, made of small burnt-out flashlight bulbs.

I hadn't seen anything like it before. I wonder if it was home-made, or a kit ????

I would like to think that it is homemade. Some how it would take some of the "charm" away if it were a kit.

Although kits were available during that period, and it does seem to fit nicely at the wheels wells, the slant of the top and the hood. The quarter round molding and the small brads (they almost look look like staples) make me tend to believe it is a kit or came assembled and painted (the star and cross are to sharp).

Well so much for CHARM. :w00t:

Oh that is cool!

I tend to think that it is homemade or at least not massed produced. It is interesting to me that the medic panels are more in a British pattern (circular-vs-square). Maybe a toy made in England and sent home?
