knd643 Posted August 25, 2014 Share #76 Posted August 25, 2014 Here's my 1943 dated M2 Jungle First Aid Kit made by J.A. SHOE. It is the same color all around, the flash is making it seem like it's not.

oldabewla Posted August 30, 2014 Share #78 Posted August 30, 2014 Craig, I think that is the cleanest M.C. Machete Scabbard I have ever seen. Thank Flag Guy, been gone to the motorcycle shows looking for WLA stuff! Craig
sigo Posted December 8, 2017 Share #79 Posted December 8, 2017 Great thread, back from the dead. I enjoyed seeing all the 70+ year old new field gear. I thought Id share some. I suppose a few new in the package 1944 Boyt M1916 holster could be considered mint.

'Flage Guy Posted December 10, 2017 Share #84 Posted December 10, 2017 Here is one of the very cleanest Rucksacks in the house; a typical later 1943 "transition" with dark OD pack and light OD/tan webbing and binding.
'Flage Guy Posted December 10, 2017 Share #85 Posted December 10, 2017 With these, when the paint is still there on the horns of the frame and the buckle finish is still pristine, it's a sure sign of virtually no usage.
'Flage Guy Posted December 10, 2017 Share #86 Posted December 10, 2017 Complete with all straps...sadly, the scarce 1943 leather-mounted Rifle hook is missing.

'Flage Guy Posted December 10, 2017 Share #88 Posted December 10, 2017 Extremely scarce first-run Marine Corps Camouflaged Poncho printed in the original "Frogskin" color scheme, prior to the 1942 order to reverse the colors. I don't know how it got overlooked, but this one shows little-to-no use, and is still quite soft.
'Flage Guy Posted December 10, 2017 Share #89 Posted December 10, 2017 Comparison with the common 'flage Poncho showing the difference in the color schemes. Both of these Ponchos are made by Archer Rubber and dated September 17, 1942.
rambob Posted December 11, 2017 Share #90 Posted December 11, 2017 This is difficult here since I only collect the minty WWII gear so I will post a few bright spots in my collection like this mint, unissued M2 jungle first aid kit in the original box. Note that the bottles still have the tape seal on them. Bob

'Flage Guy Posted December 11, 2017 Share #94 Posted December 11, 2017 Rambob, that stuff's enough to make a grown man cry It must have taken a good many years to assemble all those components!!
rambob Posted December 11, 2017 Share #95 Posted December 11, 2017 Flage, thanks for the kind words!! You and I are kindred spirits and I have salivated more than once over your fine collection. I have been collecting for over 40 years and some of the items I have came from one time finds ,such as the M2 jungle kits in boxes, that won't ever surface again. I like this thread and will be posting other items/groupings in the near future. Bob
