Member_2114 Posted August 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2010 GI44-45 attended Peak Rail, Derbyshire, England, this weekend, and had the chance to pay homage to the 69th Infantry Division. During which we made the most of the opportunity to get a few photos with the excellent 2nd Guards Russian Living History Group, recreating the link up with East meeting West in 1945. The weekend gave us a chance to dig in again, get dirty, fire a few rounds through the mortar and test out our new BD71 telephone exchange in preparation for Fort Amherst later this year. Most often, we’re not allowed to dig at display sites, and I’d imagine most groups wouldn’t want to take the time to do so even if they were allowed. Its hard to make something that is a living history display appear "random"- all those 10 in 1 cartons "disgarded", cans thrown away, only to be collected up again and stored ready for the next event!!!
