tigerfan Posted July 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2010 Here is a purple heart lot to a 2nd lt. in the 81st armored recon bn 1st armored division that was KIA on Jan. 31, 1943 in North Africa. There are several letters & articles I did not picture. This lot was almost a dontation to the land fill. I will let the photos do the talking. Robbo Posted July 28, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 28, 2010 WOW!! Amazing save!! I shudder to think just how many items and groupings like this have had the same fate that this nearly did. Well done on preserving this soldiers sacrifice. Rob

Endgame 1945 Posted July 28, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 28, 2010 Why do people throw away medals? It's honestly the stupidest thing I've heard. If you don't want them then sell them! Don't just throw them away! I am really glad you found these medals when you did tigerfan. It would have been a tragedy otherwise.
