3rd ID Ike Original or Put Together?

I am interested in this Ike and am wondering if it is put together.

This Ike is pretty high ranked but lacks service stripes. Does it mean anything or would they sometimes be left off jackets?

Also there is no good conduct ribbon. Maybe back in war you could rank-up with a less than pristine service record.

Thanks!

316th FS 324th FG

I dont know about the rest of it, but it is a 1st ID ike, not 3rd and the good conduct ribbon is there, right next to the yellow American Defense Ribbon

Your jacket looks original and the crests are for the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. As for the rank, many NCO's were promoted in the field and could have served less than three years. In your case with the American Defense he most likly just didn't bother to add it before discharge. As already stated the ribbon next to the American Defense is the Good Conduct medal ribbon.

Okay, thanks. I pooched the thread title, I had 3rd ID on the brain over something else.

The ribbon on the left looks very orange, I thought it was a foreign award. Good conduct it is.

Any idea what the white shoulder loop is? Is it ceremonial?

Thanks!!
