1909-1986

Service Battery 20th Field Artillery Regiment

 

Howard Snyder draft in September 1943 ,

he was from franklin Ohio, married to Eva snyder . Assigned to 20th field artillery regiment , on of artillery regiment (105mm) in 4th infantry division he went to Normandy just after D-Day.

He was in all campaigns for the liberation of europe with the 4th Ivy Div

Back to civil life in end 1945 , he passed away October 1986.

Photo dated from August 1944 12km from Paris , Snyder is on the left , marked ont he back "Ed and Frank , with Love ED " maybe sent to his wife .

Photo write on the back "Gagny near Paris 28 August 1944" , Snyder is in the middle with the shirt and carbine , the soldier at left of snyder were an M43 field jacket

Im interested in the 4th! That list of souvenirs is really cool. It's not to often that you get a nice ID'd group like this with a pic of the soldier in the field.

Ivy, congrats on getting this grouping...it went to a great guy!! It is awesome seeing items like this to be in the hands of people who deeply respect and honor these men. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
