cbuehler Posted July 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2007 I wanted to share this, my favorite Navy uniform. A rather rare CPO uniform belonging to a certain A G Wise who apparently was a mailman for Seabees at some point as is indicated on the sleeve. These ww2 mailman's rates are rather hard to find and a bullion CPO, I would venture to say, is somewhat more than scarce. I have read that the Mailman CPO was the highest paid enlisted rank in the Navy of the time, even more than enlisted pilots. Apparently this had something to do with having been bonded. CNY Militaria Posted July 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2007 Thats is indeed a very interesting uniform! Not a front line guy, but a very important job nonetheless!
KASTAUFFER Posted July 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2007 Thats is indeed a very interesting uniform! Not a front line guy, but a very important job nonetheless! Some of the Seabee units were right in the line of fire. All depends where he was! Kurt
