tbirdismypride Posted July 11, 2010 #1 Posted July 11, 2010 Hello everyone, I have tried looking of USAF patches.com but have had no luck on most of these. The one patch with the sword and lightning bolts " Strength and Prepardeness" came up in the USAF gallery but was marked as 3 different units. It is either the 21st Composit Wing, 21st Space Wing or 21st Tactical Fighter Wing. so Could it be either of them? Here they come.

J_Andrews Posted July 11, 2010 #6 Posted July 11, 2010 The emblem in Post #1 began life as the 21st Fighter-Bomber Group, approved 23 Jul 1957. Before the emblem, that unit was the 21st Fighter Group of the Seventh AF equipped with P-51s when it entered combat on Iwo Jima. The same patch (and unit history) probably was redesignated for the later Wings you cite. Many Groups were upgraded to Wings over the years.
