This is a picture of my father in law, Warren Waller, who passed away on Monday at 88 years of age. He was a quite, unassuming guy who only talked about his experiences when I would ask him. He flew different planes, but when he talked about flying a B-25 Mitchell, his eyes sparkled. I'm going to miss him terribly; he was a good man and he became like a father to me after losing my Dad almost 20 years ago. Vaya con Dios, Papaw.

Thinking back to my childhood in the 1950's thru early '60's I heard very few WW2 veterans talk about the war. They'd gone off to war and did what was necessary.....then moved on with their lives. Maybe this is why they they avoided the problems suffered by so many of the war veterans of my generation. Tom Brokaw got it right when he called them "the greatest generation".
