Hello,

I was told that these two camoflage uniforms are South Vietnamese made during the war however they lack any insignia to determine which unit(s) wore them. The darker camo pattern has a manufacture stamp while the US style camoflage pattern does not. I purchased them a number of years ago at Goodwill. Were they generic camoflage uniforms or did particular units wear them?

Thanks,

Dennis

Dennis-The first uniform is often referred to as Vietnamese Ranger pattern, and the second is a Vietnamese airborne pattern erdl. With that being said, I have also seen SEALS wearing the ranger pattern plus some SF advisors also wearing them. The ERDL's were like almost any other camo uniform available in Vietnam, in that if you went in the tailor shop you could buy whatever you wanted.
