Here is my most favorite uniform I own. It certainly is not rare or worn by a famous highly decorated soldier. It was given to me by my best High School buddy. He wore this jacket in Afghanistan during the 2005 deployment of the 116th Infantry Regiment of the 29th ID.

Hope you like and thanks for looking.

Chris

This is one of my favorites.

Two tour 8th AAF P-47/51 Fighter Pilot who commanded "Bill's Buzz Boys", a pioneering ground strafing unit leading up to D-Day, 2.5 Aerial Victories, shot down in May 1944 and fought with the French Maquis until linking up with the US Third Army a few weeks later. After a month break in the US, he returned to Europe for a second tour and was shot down again while attacking what was later found to be a decoy train, being Killed In Action.

Justin, Such a sad story. Great looking uniform and history to go with it.Thank you for sharing. You have a pretty amazing group of uniforms.

It reminds me of John McCain. He was on the Forrestal when his plane was destroyed by that horrific fire. Was offered to go home but asked for another combat carrier. We all know how that ended.

My wifes grandfathers uniforms. Served with the 9th Air Force. Everything is in perfect condition, as he put it away properly.

I believe the Shooter badges and EIB are his brothers, who passed away shortly after the war.

Man, this uniform looks awesome. On the Green tab I see a 6-th Inf. Reg DUI and rank checrons are experimental ones from 1948-51 era. Nice Berlin Command patch too!

My 2 favorites, my Grandfather's from WW II (drafted in 1944 at the young age of 37) and an early AG 44 coat with a 4th Army current unit and SeaBee Combat patch ( a rather unique combination)

Good day all,

I have here what I believe to be quite a rare WWI period (and earlier), officer's fur lined overcoat. These I believe were all non-issue...

I have seen images these coats taken in France during WWI and Mexico in 1916...

Don't know if this type of overcoat is particularly rare, but I sure haven't seen many for the offering.

Here I have a WWI period shawl-collared short overcoat.

Coat is unlined and features tunic-size buttons.

There is only a stitched outline of where a QM tag in the right pocket once was...

This coat is not ready for display yet, so I present it here is raw form...

As new member I am impressioned from # of impressionant uniforms that you have found. But I also have few pieces for me " rare " or important. Here one of they :

OG-107 '80 era of a Brig. General with directly embroidered Name / Collar Rank / Pilot wings / Master Flight Surgeon & MAC pocket patch. I found it still with the wings ( both in metal and on cloth ) and a slip of paper with all the data of owner in a mountain of US Military clothings imported in Italy. Probably this shirt was forgot in a tailor shop. Don'found info about this general.

This is could be your man, but he got his star in 93 and there was no mention of being assigned to MAC after that date.: http://www.af.mil/About-Us/Biographies/Display/Article/107712/brigadier-general-dr-robert-p-belihar/

Since this thread was given new life I thought I'd post one of my collection favorites. WASP graduate of Class 44-5. And her graduation photo.

Thanks Firefighter for your infos about the owner of my shirt. Really this is a mistery, but I think not possible a modification on this item.

Because of decease of Mr. Roberts I can attach also the pic where you can see the address marked on the paper : the town was on Missisipi and I don't see assignements on this area !

A VN ERA Fatigue SHIRT from my little collection : interesting because of a small USCG unit ( a branch sometimes forgot ).

All the insignias are VN made and found with it

if it is, then the theory I would put forward was he was wounded at Anzio, a little earlier on and was in the rear getting treated, and thus missed out in the debacle at Cisterna, and with his unit gone now, was transferred to the FSSF when he was fit for duty rather then sent home.
