tbirdismypride Posted June 28, 2010 #1 Posted June 28, 2010 I wanted to know if this would be considered a "swirl" patch. Would this patch have been worn or not? Thanks Guys..
Lee Ragan Posted June 28, 2010 #2 Posted June 28, 2010 I kinda doubt it is being worn as the F-35 has not entered service yet. It's only in the developement and early test stage. None have been assigned to units yet so it makes you wonder why it's marked 58FS on the reverse.

This came in a bag of other patches I got.
Mark1 Posted June 29, 2010 #4 Posted June 29, 2010 I believe the 58th Fighter Squadron stood down in september 2009 and got rid of there F-15s, then stood up in October 2009 to start training on the F-35. Aircraft are expected to arrive at the end of this year and be at full strength in 2014. the squadron will be the first operational F-35 squadron. Mark
