WW2 Uniform

Recommended Posts

I just picked up this really nice WW2 grouping on the cheap (25.00) and would like any info I can get regarding the piece. WW2 is not usually my area of collecting but as I mentioned, this was a garage sale bargain and any info regarding the unit or background on the original owner (the name MEYER is stenciled into the trousers) would be very greatly appreciated.

The grouping is in really outstanding condition with no mothing at all. The field shirt also has stripes and a unit patch as well.

well, he was a staff Sargent in the 27th infantry division. the 27th infantry division was in the pacific but only a few "elements" were used and not the entire division. the blue piping on the side cap indicates he was an enlisted infantry man.

hope this helps and good luck with the name

Nice grouping! especially for 25 bucks

The 27th is now HQ'd in the Syracuse area. Any other info from the garage sale? I have some pre-war 27th records from one company dating from the 20's until the end of the war. I will check for a Meyer when I get a chance.
