normaninvasion Posted May 10, 2013 Share #127 Posted May 10, 2013 Can someone please give me an approximate date or era of the EGA's in post number 24. Would also appreciate a value. Thanks. Ronnie This style was used from 1937 into the 50s.
Brig Posted May 10, 2013 Share #128 Posted May 10, 2013 Can someone please give me an approximate date or era of the EGA's in post number 24. Would also appreciate a value. Thanks. Ronnie Can't really place a value on trenched emblems. Vary piece by piece since they are unique. Some bring low amounts, some high.

b_hinch Posted September 1, 2014 Share #134 Posted September 1, 2014 There is a campaign cover on ebay with this early EGA on it. I know the cover is army, but I'm mostly interested in the EGA. I have seen one before, but don't remember its origins. Does anyone have any info on this EGA? Thanks.

b_hinch Posted September 1, 2014 Share #140 Posted September 1, 2014 Trenched, early variant. Some are marked made in England, others are not I thought it might be trenched, but couldn't put my finger on how it might have been modified. What do you think Brig? Brig Posted September 1, 2014 Share #141 Posted September 1, 2014 Wing is cut from the anchor crossbar, and both are bent upwards. A simple, common way these birds were subtly trenched at times

Fly USMC Posted June 8, 2017 Share #146 Posted June 8, 2017 I picked these up on ebay a little while ago with a small group of EGA's It was a small group cant remember exactly how many right now, but I would say less than 10 emblems. There wasn't anything I was particularly going after in the group, but the price ended up being fairly good so I won the lot. Any way, when the group came in, I noticed toat these two were bent and I put them aside. I finally took a look at them a few weeks ago and noticed that they were both "Trenched" or bent on purpose to give them an extra Flare.
Fly USMC Posted June 8, 2017 Share #147 Posted June 8, 2017 They were not an original pair, as one of them has a short post as seen on the Overseas cover emblems, but I do believe that they were matched together many years ago and have now been together for a long time
