ADMIN Posted July 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2007 To all USMF members: I want to first start out by saying the USMF community is one of the most knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful communities on the web! And the USMF moderator team is probably one of the most dedicated and quick responding teams online. But, despite how wonderful and dedicated the members and the moderators are, issues still arise that need quick action (i.e. moving posts, deleting posts, preventing violations, removing/reporting spam, etc.). Members are often very quick to report these violations, but being a USMF moderator and/or administrator is not a full-time occupation. Thus, members sometimes find themselves waiting some time for a response or action. And, as many members have said, it is frustrating. So, now that USMF has over 1000 member accounts, the need for moderators with the ability to moderate in any section of the board has become painfully obvious. Over and over the administration finds moderator and/or member alerts in a section saying, "this topic needs to be moved but I don't have moderator rights here. Please move." Until this point, only the moderator of that section (if there was one) or an administrator could take action. This meant that sometimes members were left to wait for some time before someone noticed the alert or an administrator received notification. To fix this issue, the Administration has decided to create another group of moderators. Those in this new position will be known as a "Senior Moderator." Members of this Senior Moderator group were chosen based upon their interactions with community members, efficient use of moderator abilities, collector knowledge, computer/technology experience, and online availability. It will be held by more than one individual (5 were selected), so no one "Senior Moderator" will feel overwhelmed. With the addition of a "Senior Moderator" position, the individuals holding that position (as well as the Administrators) will have the ability to spot problems and fix them immediately. Senior Moderators will even have the ability to make changes when there is not a moderator listed for that specific section. Thus, a "Senior Moderator" is a moderator with full moderator powers in every section. So, if a member or a moderator finds themselves in need of having a post deleted or moved, needing assistance with another member or board function, reporting a violation, etc. they can feel free to contact the moderator of that section or one of the following: SENIOR MODERATORS ccmax Jeremiah Jim Baker Johan Willaert Schottzie ADMINISTRATORS Bob (Forum Support) Chris (ADMIN) Craig (Craig_pickrall) Greg (Greg Robinson) Sincerely, USMF Administration
