According to wikipedia, the Regiment's scout platoons participated in Operation Desert Storm. Also, the Blackhorse Regiment deployed an aviation task force on 10 April 1991 to Turkey for Operation Provide Comfort, an operation to support the Kurdish relief effort. One month later, the three maneuver squadrons (1st, 2d and 3d) along with the regiment's support squadron, deployed to Kuwait for Operation Positive Force, an operation to secure Kuwait so it could rebuild from the war. It is to my understanding that the 11th ACR was present at the time of the Doha Disaster/Doha Dash in the area at the time in Doha, Kuwait where they had dbdu uniforms in use

easterneagle87 Posted June 17, 2025 #7236 Posted June 17, 2025 Antique store pick up yesterday. Young Staff Sergeant with 5th Army patch. There appears to be some fraying at the top of the patch, maybe removed from another uniform and re-sewn to this shirt. I was hoping for maybe a bullion patch as I just saw the 5th Army patch and grabbed it adding to my selections, but when I got home and magnified it, it doesn't appear to be.
