Took operational units, several of which have been assigned to the 2ID since 1918, and gave them to a Div HQ (7th) that was stood up in 2012 just to give the Army another Div HQ for rotation during the GWOT. Robbing Peter to pay Paul shell game BS. Rest assured other than Rangers, 82nd and 101st the notion of Regimental pride and integrity is dead in the active US Army. Just a random mix of various single battalions scattered in undermanned divisions. The Guard seems to be way more stable with unit lineage.

The brothers--Anthony, Carl, Bernard, and Donald--had to petition for exemption from the "Sullivan Rule," which forbade siblings from serving in the same unit. Here, the four brothers pose with their battalion headquarters sign. Note the one on the left has an unnumbered armored triangle on his chest and the one second from left has a numbered triangle.

MAJ Shea is wearing a shoulder holster on his hip, with the leather strap meant to be worn across the chest being used around his waist. The shoulder holster was issued to aviators so they could access their pistol while strapped into their seat in the cockpit of a fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft.

Perrin in 1945, most likely for actions during the Battle of the Bulge. General Perrin commanded the division from 22 December 1944 to 7 February 1945. Note that they are only receiving the ribbon and not the medal itself.
