3rd Infantry Division - October 1943. He's wearing the Purple Heart ribbon, so he was probably home recovering from wounds received in North Africa or Sicily. He looks like he's about 15 years old.

Those are incredibly interesting portraits you posted Sean, they all appear to be taken in the same place, and from different units and in some cases different branches of te Armed Forces, do you have a background on them?

They are from the Ann Arbor, Michigan library online collection. I believe they were all taken at the University of Michigan during the war.
