Joined the US Army Cadet Nurse Corps on 2 Jan 1945 as a lieutenant. She married Jasper William Colson in 1950. 4th Service Command was headquartered in Atlanta, GA. On 11 Jun 1946, the ASF and all nine service commands were disestablished, and their functions passed to the six Army Areas. This photo dates between 2 Jan 1945 and 11 Jun 1946. Since she is not wearing a WWII Victory Ribbon (the medal wasn't created until later) on her jacket, presume it was taken prior Jun 1945, when the ribbon was authorized. patches Posted August 5, 2022 Share #5842 Posted August 5, 2022 A interesting one, a unnamed GI of the Allied Forces in 45, must of served first somewhere in the Pacific as he has an A&P Ribbon with one campaign star, also seems to have a Purple Heart, so yes, maybe out in New Guinea or the Solomons, was wounded badly enough, sent home, recovered and was sent overseas again, this time to Italy. Got a Driver Badge there too., can't make out his branch disc though.
