A Constabulary sergeant wearing 1st Cavalry Regiment DUI's on his lapels. The unit was converted to the 1st Armored Regiment and assigned to the 1st Armored Division during World War II and upon the division's reorganization in 1944, became the 1st Tank Battalion. That battalion was subsequently redesignated as the 1st Constabulary Squadron at the end of World War II.

Technician 3rd Grade post-World War II/late 40's (World War II Victory Medal ribbon, domed U.S. insignia and double branch insignia) still wearing the China Burma India Theater SSI. When was that phased out?

An interesting one for sure, the tie, wonder if it's an Officers Chocolate one. worn with the Khaki shirt, have to be before the late summer of 1948

Here's two pictures of my uncle - first is before departing for Europe with the 63rd Infantry Division and the second is when he returned in 1946. It's interesting to see that he was wearing his CIB below his ribbons.

Soldier on the right is wearing a 3rd Infantry Division SSI on a non-GI uniform. The caption reads that these soldiers were liberated prisoners of war of the Germans who were returned to the U.S. in March 1945 on the Swedish ocean liner Gripsholm.
