He arrived back in this U.S. in March 1945 after serving overseas 18 months with the 2nd Infantry Division where he was wounded in action December 14, 1944. Secretary of War Stimson made the presentation in Washington D. C. before Master Sergeant Rubin arrived in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to his enlistment, Rubin was a page boy for the Columbia Broadcasting System. He speaks French, his native language; Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese. He is the second youngest Master Sergeant in the Army and also holds the Purple Heart. Rubin is leaning against a pillar, dressed in his military uniform. Simeone, twenty-eight, is a member of the Fort Worth Military Police force. He holds a Purple Heart and a Naval Presidential unit citation. The Boston, Massachusetts native entered in the service in 1941. He was a member of the Americal Division, an Army outfit which fought with the Marines. In June 1944 he joined the Military Police in Fort Worth, Texas. He is leaning against a desk, dressed in his military uniform. There is a picture hanging on the wall behind him. He wears ribbons for the Silver Star with three oak leaf clusters, Bronze Star with three oak leaf clusters and Purple Heart with three oak leaf clusters. Photo caption: "Major James F. Hollingsworth of Sanger, Texas, is pictured here. He is shown inside a train, dressed in uniform, holding a cigarette in his right hand and posing for the camera through the open window. Major Hollingsworth, Fighting Texas is the former Texas A&M football ace.
