Yes, for those unfamiliar with this, going back the the dawn of ROAD in 1963 probably, D Troops in Ground Recon Squadrons are the Air Cav Troop, while Vice Versa DTroops in an Air Cav Squadron are the Ground Recon Troop. Don't know if it's this way today.

seanmc1114 Posted February 3, 2020 Share #4359 Posted February 3, 2020 Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division and 82nd Airborne Division sometime between the end of World War and the Korean War during a period when there was quite a bit of transition in uniform insignia. Note both are wearing double enlisted collar brass. While the 3rd ID soldier is wearing World War II era enlisted chevrons that were authorized through 1948, the 82nd trooper is wearing 1948 - 1951 goldenlite chevrons. And the 82nd trooper is wearing an AIRBORNE tab with his SSI which was restored on 23 December 1948.

seanmc1114 Posted February 5, 2020 Share #4362 Posted February 5, 2020 Infantryman of the 3rd Battalion 22nd Infantry in Vietnam wearing pocket patches for both the 4th and 25th Infantry Divisions in Vietnam. The 3/22nd was initially assigned to the 3rd Brigade 4th Infantry Division when it arrived in Vietnam but that brigade was transferred to the 25th Infantry Division on 1 August 1967, becoming the 3rd Brigade 25th Infantry Division. It's possible he's wearing the 4th SSI as a sort of combat pocket patch and the 25th SSI to show his current divisional assignment.

seanmc1114 Posted February 7, 2020 Share #4365 Posted February 7, 2020 Tab for the Allied Command Europe Mobile Force Land (LAND) worn with a 3rd Support Command SSI. The SSI was approved for the 3rd Logistical Command in 1952, redesignated for the 3rd Support Command in 1974 and again redesignated for the 3rd Sustainment Command in 2007. The soldier is also wearing the pocket badge for NATO’s Allied Mobile Force (AMF) Allied Command Europe (ACE). According to wikipedia, the Allied Command Europe Mobile Force (AMF) was a small NATO quick reaction force, headquartered at Heidelberg, Germany, active from 1960 to 2002. It formed part of Allied Command Europe (ACE), headquartered at SHAPE at Casteau, Belgium. The land component of the force, consisting of a brigade-sized formation of about 5,000 personnel, was composed of units from 14 NATO states.
