GIs of the 3rd Bn 21st Inf, 196th Inf Bde (Sep) around the fall of 1966. Can't tell for sure if it's U.S. made fully embroidered or theater made.

Kinda of a Twofer, a 60s GI in M51 field jacket and Steel Pot and Leaf cover-M56 web gear, with today's GIs in ACUs, not sure but I think it's for some kinda Army short film, looks like they got the 60s GI right, though his buddy in the background, also in the 60s field jacket is wearing a current camo pull over cap, Multicam? probably will remove it once the action starts.

Any way what's that current patch the one in the ACUs is wearing? looks like the Minute Man, which in our book is Reserve affiliated.

I talked to her and she said that they were ordered by their post commander to wear this maroon beret for this deployment since they were accompanying Airborne units...it is the Ft Dix DUI indeed.

Say what now?? Personnel from the Army Support Activity, Ft Dix, which falls under IMCOM, where told by the garrison commander to wear unauthorized headgear with the flash of the 421st QM Co, a USAR unit from Georgia?? And the garrison CSM was okay with that??

In regards to the ARNG Schools Patch, here's a cool photo of it being worn with a Mountain Tab by cadre at the US Army Mountain Warfare School in Jericho

A Theater Made Bullion Austrian Occupation patch.

The WWII NCO I'm afraid to say is Leno LaBianca of Los Angeles. Don't know who he was? Look him up, and even though it happened a long time ago, you'll most likely be outraged and sickened at the same time.

Pvt Servando Varela 300th Engineer Battalion IV Corps, Camp White Oregon early 1943. Later the 300th Eng Bn went to England. The 300th Eng began arriving over Utah Beach on June 15, 1944 at that time it became a VIII Corps troop unit. While making the channel crossing on June 17th, LST 523 which was carrying the second echelon of the battalion, struck a mine and sank with the loss of 90 men dead and 35 wounded. Varela himself was wounded on June 27 on a bridge building mission and evacuated out, 15 other engineers were wounded too, and the worst of it was the battalion lost their CO, Major John Tucker who was killed during this action.
