I have always thought that woven rank stripes on USMC uniforms date those uniforms as post-WWII. Can somebody in the know verify this, or am I wrong? I see people selling USMC uniforms with woven stripes as WWII..... Thanks for the help!

I might be wrong, but I thought they came into use late war.

I believe that they did come out late war, or atleast for all the Marines getting out of the service who decided to put chevrons on their service uniforms. I have owned a few WWII Marine green service uniforms with the woven chevrons, from Marines that got out just after the end of the war. They are much more common, however, on the post war and Korean vintage uniforms. Hope this helps. - Jeff
