AndrewA74 Posted July 15, 2007 #1 Posted July 15, 2007 Hello, This is a 1944 USN letter from John Riddle SF 3/c From: John Riddle SF 3/c US Naval Repair Base Temporary Duty San Diego 36, Calif. To: Mrs. C.C. Allison Elk Park N.C. It reads: March 6, 1944 Monday Dear Bert, I got your letter today and was glad to hear from you. I have finished school and I am in F.B.J.D. waiting to be transfered somewhere now. The mail didn't get to me until today and then it all came at once and I have so many to ans. that this is about all I can write until I get to some other base. This is the last time I will write here. Love, John It is written on USN stationery. A prime example of a wartime letter within the US. AndrewA74
