Sjef Posted April 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2010 Hello Here is my grandfather’s dress uniform of US origin, which he wore after WWII as a 2nd lieutenant of the infantry of the KNIL (Royal Netherlands East Indies Army).
Sjef Posted April 26, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted April 26, 2010 Here is a close-up of the buttons. The US eagle buttons are replaced by Dutch lion buttons, and on the piss cutter is also a Ducth lion standing on a banner saying "NEDERLAND". Sjef Posted April 26, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 26, 2010 The shirt and trousers are of Australian origin by the way and have a slightly darker colour. He used to wear it with a tan coloured tie (if I recall correctly from seeing him in this uniform on photographs). Here is the label of the jacket. And of the shirt If anyone has information on the type of the uniform please let me know. He also had OD US officer shirts (I cut one up about 20 years ago :crying: ) and a full US combat uniform. His daisy mae hat and utility cover are in my possession. Cheers!!
