I bought this belt in 1977 to use on a camping trip. It was brand new when I got it. Same belt as shown above.....but called the "M1972" and contract dated 1974.

Greg,

interesting example, both have same NSN, but according to the manufacturer's tag, different types, nice example which can confuse the colectors

I have also documented following examples of same belt, but under following designation:

1) belt, individual equipment, LC-1 - 1974 contract date

2) belt, individual equipment, nylon, LC-1 - 1976 contract date

3) belt, individual equipment, nylon, LC-2 - 1980 contract date

My belt has an FSN since it predates the changeover to NSN;s. So a different format number.....but same belt.

I know, two digits "00" representing "country code" were added to NSN code

Hello all!

I know I am resurrecting an old thread, but I have a belt just like the firsat two pictured in this thread, except that the label is marked "Belt Individual Equipment" with no LC-1 or LC-2 marking. Nothing is marked out, either. There is stencilled "03" in the margin as well. Looks to be contract dated 74 as well. It is a Large size.

Sorry for no pics. The belt is at my parents' house 70 miles away.

Any thoughts on why no LC markings would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have four of the versions with the plastic buckle. They are kind of cumbersome.
