TrenchfootJoe66 Posted April 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2010 Over the years Ive picked a number of uniforms that still contained S starch from thier last pressing. Some of these have been quite heavily starched. We all love those razor sharp creases!! My question... Is there long term damage to the cloth ( usually cotton ) ?? Would it be better for the preservation of the garment to somehow wash out/remove all that starch? If so, what would be the best method for doing so? luft Posted April 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 18, 2010 Hi, Personally, on these situations, I wash out the garment, myself or pressing, that's depend to type of garment After, I put on them some moth repellent, used by french army (very powerful but smelling very bad and strong ^^) Thierry
USMCRECON Posted April 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 18, 2010 I have a couple pairs of my Marine khaki cotton tropicals that have been starched in my Sea bag for almost 44 years and they still look just fine.
