Sabrejet Posted April 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2010 The following seven frames were assembled to give an overview of the evolution of the G.I's load-bearing equipment from the M-1910/17 gear of WW2 thru the ALICE gear of the 1980s. Sabrejet Posted April 12, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted April 12, 2010 It's worth noting that the equipment on these rigs would be frequently mixed and matched, depending upon what was available for issue at the time. WW1 gear was widely issued in WW2 so a mix of early and later production items was commonplace. Likewise during the Korean war, when late WW2 OD 7 items were mixed with new production items as well as some earlier WW2 khaki stuff. The same principles also applied in Vietnam during the various phases of that war. Sabrejet.
