Navy para rigger wing

Flea market find, cost £2. Appears to be bronze and looks like its never had an fittings. could this have been intended to go on a trophy ?

Any ideas,date,etc.

In hand the detail looks better than in my photo. The shroud lines come neatly to the tip.

this was originally a Navy Parachute Rigger badge in WWII. A lot of Paramarines preferred them over the Army type and wore them against regs, prompting them to be adopted as the Marine Corps Master jump wings later.

 

May be for a plaque, but may just be an unfinished sample. The plaques I've seen are usually issued insignia hammered into the wood.
