wallaceand Posted April 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2010 Hi. I have an old Stanley Thermos. This is the skinny one, about 18" tall. Looks a lot like the one Stanley sold in the early 50's. And it's heavy, around 8 pounds. Can someone help decode the numbers. Stamped on the side bottom ring: CONTAINER, LIQUID VACUUM TWO QUART TYPE GI ORDER NO. AF-33 038 21407 SPECIFICATION NO. 40928 LANDERS FRARY & CLARK NEW BRITAIN, CONN USA PROPERTY AF, U.S. ARMY On the bottom: Stanley Super Vac "It will not break" Made in the USA Landers, Frary, & Clark. How made it is the easy part, where's it's been is the hard part. Thanks for any help.

wallaceand Posted April 1, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 1, 2010 Wow, great pics. Looks like it might be the last one, the cap/cup doesn't have a bottom for the tap. Do yo know how old the pictures are? Thanks for you help. Trying to add a pic, see if this works. Mine does have a handle, not sure if it's original. It looks like bakelite by pyrex. Cobrahistorian Posted April 1, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 1, 2010 It is WWII vintage. No later than 1947.
