If we only knew more about the maker & origin's of these scarce emblems. Dirk is spot on, the washer is an example of the Chinese "Auspicious Sayings Token" equivalent of 100 cash coins. These cash coins were typically tied in number of 100 with a cord running through the holes and are therefore the equivalent of one string of 100 cash coins. This one is interesting, as it has an edge chop mark. Edge cuts were traditionally used to determine if a silver coin was silver throughout or only plated on the surface.
