Sgt Saunders Posted March 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 22, 2010 I bought 3 WWII ammo cans last year at a show. They were sound but a little rusty. I just came across them today and decided to clean them up and do a repaint. The gaskets are trash. Does anybody make reproduction gaskets for the WWII 30 caliber cans? Or there is there a good caulking tube type sealant I can run a bead around the seal area and let it cure that will work?
kphfun Posted March 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2010 Try a window supply house as they have the black rubber gasket that is the same size, a guy I know in Nevada redid a couple of dozen and that was where he got the material from. I couldn't give you the company's name but I am sure if you google "rubber gasket tubing" you will find a supply house. Cheers, Kev

Do you know if it's self sticking or you have to glue it in? Thanks Kev
kphfun Posted March 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 24, 2010 No glue on them as it was just on a spool of 100' if I recall.
