Hello.

Yesterday I adquire this woodland BDU, it lost some patches, but has two that I never see before. These are military? maybe civilian? anybody know some about the A-10 and the "totem" patch? Thanks a lot

The patches are 100% USAF, but they were thrown on the uniform by somebody. The tribesman is the 80th TFS.

I am guessing the Totem patch that you are referring to is the one on the right pocket? If so, it is the 80th Fighter Squadron, the HeadHunters. They have a lineage going back to 1942. During WWII this was a pretty hot squadron operating in the pacific. I know that they are currently flying F-16’s and prior to that they flew F-4’s. I don’t think they ever flew A-10’s, however additional research will solve that question. The A-10 is exactly is, a generic patch. I have a nice Australian made HeadHunters patch in a case and can post it if you would like? Gregg

The patches are good, as is the shirt, but as Ski said, the patches don't go together. The 1st Tac Ftr Trng Sq. patch is from the 1980's or early 90's and based at Tyndall AFB Florida. The 80th Tac Ftr Sq the "Headhunters" is at Kunsan Korea. The Tactical Air Command is color, therefore not worn on BDU's, and is on the wrong pocket. The A-10 patch - it's color and on the sleeve - where USAF patches are not worn. Neither the 1st or the 80th has ever flown the A-10.

But they are authentic patches!
