Here's a beautifully detailed wing worn by Lt. Raymond E. Neuberg. It's pretty close to the style made by Blackington, but is only "sterling" marked. According to the family, Lt. Neuberg was a POW during WWII and had a long career in the AAF and USAF. Unfortunately, they did not know what squadron he served in or other details of his WW2 service. St. Louis was no help providing info either. So, the research goes on. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's Lt. Neuberg's photo and a pair of his 1st Lt. bars which are Gaunt, London and "sterling" marked.

Very cool. It looks like someone took a graduation pattern type wing (or slick wing as some call it) and did some custom feather engraving on it. I've never seen one like this before. Great find, thanks for posting.

I dug up a little more information on Lt Ray Neuberg. He was attached to the 309th Bomb Squadron, 351st Bomb Group when the B-17 he was piloting was shot down by flak and fighters, March 18, 1944, while on mission to bomb an airfield at Landsberg, Germany. 5 of his crew died in the crash and 5 were captured. Neuberg was a POW at Luftstalag III. He not only survived the war but lived to be 93 years old.
