AFAG-THAI & MAAG CAMBODIA

 

On the round design on the right, Bill Kilpatrick had one of those in his collection. The story he had on it was that it had been made by King of the Lao Royal Family and presented to members of the team. Everyone should take a look at the very fine Lao script... this is a detail that is normally completely destroyed in the reproductions that are made. The same can be said about the details of the temple.

 

This is only the second one of these I have ever seen.

Cookieman , That is a great patch that Gil has eluded to. I have most of the others posted but I will add another not posted. The patch and arc are Thai made . The lettering on the arc is hand done. The color is more greener than what is shown.

The MAAG Formosa patch is fairly common. Almost all of the ones you see are Japanese made, like yours.

Not a repro, there were mostly made in Japan during the time period.
